Dr. Michael Palmer serves as professor of philosophy at Regent University School of Divinity. His scholarly interests include moral theory and the history of philosophy, with special emphasis on the way classical philosophy has influenced Christian thought. He is the author of three scholarly books and numerous journal articles, book chapters and other professional writings.
Palmer came to Regent University in 2006 to serve as the dean of the School of Divinity. Prior to coming to Regent he was at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, where he served as professor of philosophy (1985-2006); chair of the Theology Department (1991-2001); and director of Project Envision (2002-2006), an initiative funded by a grant from Lilly Endowment under the auspices of its Theological Exploration of Vocation program.
At Regent, Palmer teaches courses on Christian ethics, Christian social teaching, history of philosophy (ancient and medieval), theology of call, and the theology and practice of Sabbath-living.
